There are verities of options of trails in the mountains around Pokhara. Some of the scenic excursions include: Poonhill, Annapurna Base Camp, Annapurna Circuit, Jomson & Muktinath, Royal Trek, Mardi Himal Trek. In addition, there are many opportunities to customize your trek as per your time and convenient.

Poonhill

Poonhill locates at the height 3210 meters to provide a better and unobstructed view of the high Himalayas and unfolded forest of rhododendron from the view point tower.

Itenerary

Day 1: Pokhara – Nayapul – Tikhedhunga, Day 2: Tikhedhunga – Ghorepani, Day 3: Ghorepani – Tadapani (Early morning poonhill to view sunrise and mountain), Day 4: Tadapani – Ghandruk, Day 5: Ghandruk – Nayapul -Pokhara

Annapurna Base Camp

Annapurna trek is an opportunity to surround yourself with great Himalaya Peak in western region in Nepal. You will get a chance to get pampered yourself in a short period without having an altitude and flight problems of the Everest areas. There is a 360 degrees mountain view while you are in the base camp.

Day 1: Pokhara to Tolka, Day 2: Tolka to Chhomrong, Day 3: Chhomrong to Bamboo Lodge, Day 4: Bamboo Lodge to Himalayan Hotel, Day 5: Himalayan Hotel to Machhapuchhare Base Camp, Day 6: Machhapuchhare Base Camp to Annapurna Base Camp, Day 7: Annapurna Base Camp to Deurali, Day 8: Deurali to Doban, Day 9: Doban to Chhomrong, Day 10: Chhomrong to Ghandruk, Day 11: Ghandruk to Tadapani, Day 12: Tadapani to Ghorepani, Day 13: Ghorepani to Tikhedhunga, Day 14: Tikhedhunga to Nayapul to Pokhara

Annapurna Circuit

The Annapurna circuit is considered by many to be the best trek in Nepal, surpassing the Everest trek in terms of scenic and cultural variety, and it is the country’s most popular trek, although it is quite challenging. 

The best mountain views are during March/April and October/November. This trek offers stunning views of the Annapurna mountain range.

Jomsom and Muktinath

Jomsom and Muktinath trek is combined with an incredible altitude, climate and cultural contrasts. This mainly covers the gorge in-between the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri Mountains which leads the trekkers from the well vegetated and fertile southern slop of Himalaya, to the barren zone.

Day 1: Pokhara to Birethanti, Day 2: Birenthanti to Tikedungha, Day 3: Tikedungha to Ghorapani, Day 4: Ghorapani to Tatopani, Day 5: Tatopani to Kalopani, Day 6: Kalopani to Jomsom, Day 7: Jomsom to Muktinath, Day 8-9: Muktinath to Jomsom, Day 10: Jomsom to Kathmandu

Royal Trek

Prince Charles trekked to this route together with his 90 guests, camp followers and staffs and since then this trek is known as Royal Trek.

It is a good option if you don’t have the time or energy for a longer trek. It takes in the Pokhara valley’s other two lakes, Begnas and Rupa. There is no really demanding terrain to be covered and the walk has some excellent views of the mountains. This trek also gives you an opportunity to be able to see the life of people by staying and eating with them during the trek.

Itenerary

Day1: Pokhara to Kalikastan, Day2: Kalikastan to Shaklung, Day3: Shaklung to Chisapani, Day4: Chisapani to Pokhara.
